DuPage County Divorce - Change Your Beneficiaries
When you complete your divorce case, it is critical that you finish by changing the beneficiaries on your life insurance, pensions, and other benefit plans. Just because your divorce decree says your ex has no interest in an insurance policy does not mean you are safe. Normally, matrimonial lawyers won't do this for you unless asked. Avoid problems in the future by making sure that your insurance, pensions, etc. have been changed to reflect the new beneficiaries after the divorce.
For more information, call 630.665.7676 for a consultation, or email. See the red bar at the top of each page. We look forward to helping you.
Child Support and Taxes
Child support is not tax deductible to the person paying support and is tax free to the recipient. Therefore, the recipient and the minor children get the full benefit of the money paid for child support.
